Nestlé has just given two classic Quality Street flavours a major makeover

Halloween is officially over and for many it’s now full steam ahead with all things Christmas.

Birmingham already has a tree up in its city centre and mince pies are back on supermarket shelves. 

Everyone’s favourite chocolate brands are also getting in on the action, with Cadbury launching a new version of its Heroes in Tesco and Nestlé introducing a mystery Quality Street flavour at John Lewis.

But that’s not the only change to Quality Street happening right now, as the brand has just unveiled a new collaboration with Krispy Kreme.

Together the pair have created doughnuts inspired by two of the most popular sweets: The Purple One and Caramel Swirl.

The classic Purple One in the chocolate selection sees caramel and hazelnut enrobed in milk chocolate.

Krispy Kreme has taken this and transformed it into a purple doughnut that’s filled with caramel cream and chocolate hazelnut. The whole thing is then topped with hazelnut nibs and a caramel icing swirl. 

The Caramel Swirl sweet is a milk chocolate filled with liquid caramel. The doughnut version is just as rich, with caramel cream, a chocolatey coating, gold sugar and more caramel.

Both of these are available to buy from Krispy Kreme shops and online as of October 3, as well as in selected supermarkets.

Krispy Kreme has also created some new drinks inspired by Quality Street too, including a Caramel Swirl Latte.

Introducing the doughnuts on social media, @krispykremeuk said: ‘The air is getting crisper. The jumpers are coming out of storage. Somewhere, Mariah is doing vocal warm-ups. And to help you get in the festive spirit, we’ve made a doughnut collection inspired by the Christmassiest chocolates of all: Quality Street.

‘Our two new melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts and decadent drinks are inspired by the classic Purple One and Caramel Swirl, made to get you into the festive spirit nice and early.’

Thousands of people have liked the Instagram post, with many sharing their ‘excitement’ over the ‘incredible’ new products.

‘So excited,’ proclaimed @forkin.delicious_, as @eseal said: ‘Oh my goodness I need to try these!’

@suissso wrote: ‘Wow wasn’t expecting this. Need to try.’ 

And @cornishgal79 replied: ‘Cannot wait to try these look amazing.’

‘Give me 14 of ’em right now,’ demanded @iamfyiya, while @myhappyplace_17 added: ‘OMG, the Purple One is my absolute fave! Off to Asda I go.’

For those keen to give the new products a try, currently on the Krispy Kreme website, customers can order large boxes, with prices starting from £19.99 for a Quality Street Dozen. This mix also features several Original Glazed doughnuts.
