We’ve barely gotten over the excitement of the brand new Stranger Things Burger KFC dangled in front of us, and now the fast food chain has hit us with a first of its kind drinks bar.
That’s right, the fried chicken giant has opened an innovative restaurant on Lord Street in Liverpool, which features an entire upstairs floor dedicated to beverages.
KWENCH by KFC, will serve up ‘thirst-quenching and craveable’ drinks, ranging from shakes to iced coffees, and refreshers to our fizzy favourites.
Complete with bold pink neon lights and vinyl accents, the retro interior makes it the perfect place to relax with friends, even if you don’t want to gorge on the Zinger Double Down.
Of course, if you’re hungry for a bite, the downstairs area will still be serving up it’s classic food menu, filled with sharing buckets, Fillet Tower Burgers, hot wings and popcorn chicken.
What to expect from KWENCH
The bold and colourful menu features a Caramel Krunch Shake, Chocolate Krunch Shake, and Coconut Mango Shake, alongside Iced Koffee Krunch options in Iced Caramel, Iced Mocha, and Iced Latte.
If you’re in need of something more refreshing, there’s a sparkling raspberry, hot honey mango lemonade, and the bright Cherry Poppin’ and Watermelon Poppin’ Refreshers.

Does KWENCH serve alcohol?
KWENCH doesn’t serve any alcoholic beverages, so don’t pop in for a tipple.
KFC has launched its drinks brand in response to the wants and needs of Gen Z, who the fast food chain claim value drinks choice when deciding where to eat.
The brand was first launched back in January, with Dhiren Karnani, strategy and innovation director at KFC UK & Ireland, saying: ‘Kwench by KFC [is] a freshly prepared drinks range designed to cater to every craving, from refreshing pick-me-ups to indulgent shakes.
‘Packed with craveable, visually stunning flavours, this launch is set to solidify KFC as the ultimate destination for Gen Z.’

It’s a bold move considering McDonald’s had a similar intention with its spin off CosMc’s restaurants in the US, which featured drinks to rival the likes of Starbucks.
It had tasty-sounding beverages like the Churro Frappe, Sour Cherry Energy Burst, Popping Pear Slush, and S’mores Cold Brew. There were also McFlurries, as well as some niche food offerings including a Spicy Queso Sandwich, a Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich, McPops which are small doughnuts, as well as Pretzel Bites and Hash Brown Bites.
But, since opening in 2023, McDonald’s took the decision to close all the CosMc’s sites by June 2025 and discontinuing the drive-thru restaurant’s app.
Fingers crossed KFC’s KWENCH sticks around a little longer.
